Statement

I present to you a series of 5 abstract portraits, which take you on a journey throughout the seasonal changes. This journey explores my own reality and mood of seasons, and how each season effects myself and the rest of humanity throughout the year. I explore these moods and effects through colour and bold facial expression. The merging of these colours creates a general mood for the viewer. We start off in January, and end in December, making it a cycle.

Statement

I have created a painting that explores my medical journey that involved the restoration of my vocal cords. I used a series of visual languages to show this, by first exploring and producing black and white portraits in graphite pencil as well as acrylic paint and texture.

Statement

This piece is an acrylic painting based on a photograph that I took at Audley End of a brick wall. The purpose of the painting is to convey how I as an autistic person see the world. I did this by making certain areas of the painting larger than others, including more detail in these areas than the rest of the painting to display how my brain is detail-oriented, and therefore, when looking at an image like this. I immediately see the smaller details before anything else, like patterns in the bricks and symmetry.

I have experimented with a variety of black and white patterns. Creating a 3D hanging sculpture, that is transparent playing with atmospheric light and movement. That changes with the cycle of the day.

Statement

My final projects are based on warriors, the work is made to symbolise the things that one might feel. For example, the one with the animal is about knowing to stop while the one with the two people on hills is supposed to represent the yin yang and how they correspond together. The painted one  symbolises how everyone eventually stop for a minute. These artworks also tie into my interest in the history of battle in landscapes. Reflecting on violence and forgiving.

Statement

The mountains symbolise adventure and how we crossed mountains to get here, to make a life in Britain. The mountains also signify the meaning of hope and climbing to success. In each mountain there is a portal, that show a series of cultural maps.

I created two figures from polymer clay, representing the same person in two stages/mindsets of their life. The first is a character brainwashed by the media and government. The second is the same character but healthy, independent and awake to the government/media’s lies. Presenting the figures in a box like toys, with accessories.

I have created a mix media paint on natural form that will include land, sea and cloud formation. I have gone down the phycological path, by determining how the different colours effect people’s moods, in day and night that involves atmospheric light and dark hues.

Statement

My work is about is inanimate objects gaining human characteristics and magical powers and sometimes real-life animals that are given the powers to wield the powers of fire, water grass etc. I also made a background to show that they came from a completely different universe/ dimension. My first design is a small tortoise but instead of a shell it has a kettle filled with lava on its back. My second design is of a clock that can float by using an unknown force. And my third and final design is of a grandfather clock that keeps people company in the last moments of their lives and then takes their souls safely to the afterlife.
