Statement
This project is an exploration of the theme ‘Disorientation’ looking at what makes people feel physically disorientated. The initial concept included research into the mind exploring Epilepsy, Vertigo and Dementia, looking at inspiring artists such as Bridget Riley and her use of pattern. Influenced by the current lockdown the project diverted to looking at how isolation can cause disorientating consequences. Titled ‘Animal’, the theme is portrayed in a video format that captures snippets of the repetitive lifestyle during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and how isolation has turned us back to our origins of non-human initiative, forcing society to lack freedom globally.
