Statement

This project is a promotional marketing campaign for the release of the upcoming short horror film, ‘The Last One to Make It Home’, written, edited, and directed by me. Inspired by the slasher and home invasion sub-genres, this dark, atmospheric film, and complimentary campaign is designed to capture audiences. Various promotional materials including the main poster artwork, production company branding, teaser posters, and a trailer can be seen here, along with props and behind the scenes content from the shoot.

‘Weathered Space’

Progressed from

Hertford Regional College — UAL Level 3 Art and Design (Photography)

Statement

Construction has a large impact on the climate crisis as many of the techniques and materials used are unsustainable. Habitats are destroyed for land and materials which has a negative impact on our ecosystem as well as carbon dioxide pollution from creating the materials and construction itself. Stepping into the space, you are surrounded by reclaimed items, found at the locations of the shoots. The addition of the physical components makes the experience more immersive as the viewer can touch and see the original pieces from the building.

Statement

This project is an interior design zine. I created a brand called ‘House to Home’ that prints information packed zines for people who would like to redecorate their homes but do not have the knowledge on how to do it independently. I have created a zine that will go out monthly with changing themes available in physical and digital forms. To promote the brand I have created a website and Instagram mock up that will be used to keep the subscribers updated and connected.

‘Greenwashing’

Progressed from

Hertford Regional College — UAL Level 3 Art and Design (Photography)

Statement

My project investigates the idea of greenwashing; the act of a company lying about the sustainability of their brand to appear environmentally friendly. These political parodies directly mimic an existing advertisement, but the content has been shifted to expose the truth behind their attempt to appear guilt-free. I have presented three visuals parodying companies that need to be held accountable for their actions and pushed into a more sustainable future. I purposely haven’t named the companies as they are recognisable by their iconic logos.

Sustainable fashion A/W 2023 window and in-store display for high-end brand Selfridges. Inspired by the trend ‘Funhouse’. For inspiration we explored the Memphis design movement, RuPaul’s Drag Race and Arcade Funfair as we wanted to take a more colourful and bold approach. Selfridges are forward-thinking in their vision and approach as a retail brand, looking at ways to make their brand eye-catching with creative windows and thinking outside the box and now the focus of being a more sustainable brand. We sourced sustainable fabrics to make the outfits for the mannequin giving it a patchwork effect from materials donated by Kvadrat. The claw is the key element of the window with the intention to grab your attention. The in-store display represents what the interior space for this brand would look like. Consistent from the bright colours and geometric shapes used throughout the window, we incorporated this within our platinum space to have a more cohesive fashion scheme. To further, promote this scheme, campaign shoots and videos have been created inspired by the looks that match ‘Funhouse’. We’ve also up-cycled a lot of materials throughout this scheme and used ones already available including the selected risers that have been used in different ways in order to merchandise our products.

‘Recycled Wardrobe’

Progressed from

Hertford Regional College — UAL Level 3 Art and Design (Photography)

Statement

I want to encourage people to reconsider their consumption habits, particularly when it comes to clothing. By promoting pre-loved and up-cycling, I hope to minimise the negative effects of fast fashion. I visually explored this idea by designing a collection of accessories and clothing using non-recyclable materials. Through a series of self-portraits, I model these items, adding a touch of humour and surrealism. The contrast between the playful and the serious aims to emphasise the effect of the fashion industry’s impact on our planet.

‘Oh Rubbish!’

Progressed from

Hertford Regional College — UAL Level 3 Art and Design (Animation)

Statement

Oh Rubbish! Focuses on the topic of ocean life and ocean pollution. The design for the board game was inspired by trivia styled games, creating a fun but informative game with the goal of educating players about the issues and reality of pollution in our oceans and the effect we have. Each member of the group took on different roles to create the final product.

Progressed from

Hertford Regional College — UAL Level 3 Art and Design (Photography)

Statement

My project has focused on fish and the impact that climate change is having on our oceans. My images are designed to draw attention to some of the species of sea life that are being overfished or whose habitats are being destroyed by global warming. I have chosen 4 different species of sea life that are depleting and photographed them as close-up images to draw emphasis to their shape and texture. I have inverted the images to look like x-rays to enhance the impact of the devastation that we are causing to our oceans.

‘The Future Is Us’

Progressed from

Hertford Regional College — UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design

Statement

This is a sustainable window and in-store display created for Nike’s 2023 Women in Sport Campaign where we looked at how we can encourage the younger generation of women to get into sports. We went down the route of using doodled words and symbols surrounding the image to draw the viewer in and understand the message that we are translating, which is all about inspiration and self-worth. We chose to invert half of the graphics to create more of an impact through colour which would entice a consumers eye when walking by.  As women we felt strongly about this message as in today’s society and in particular on social media it is important to promote self confidence in women to the next generation. Linking to our window display, we have created a promotional in-store display which can be used across all stores and is easily replicable. Our aim for the promotional display is to create an area which had our doodles and inspirational words surrounding it, that younger generations will be attracted to due to the growing appeal of social media. We created the display with the hashtag #TOGETHERWECAN written on the mirror that can be shared across multiple different social media platforms, allowing a further reach for this important message.

‘Takeout Your Rubbish’

Progressed from

Hertford Regional College — UAL Level 3 Art and Design (Photography)

Statement

My project aims to illustrate the absurdity of fast-food packaging. I want to draw attention to how it is produced using non-biodegradable materials and then discarded after being used for a single meal. Many fast-food companies have “ditched plastic” for cardboard or paper but use a shiny plastic-based coating on the packaging which slows the biodegradation process. Some packaging is still made from metal and foil, which doesn’t biodegrade and is harder to recycle due to being composite material. I have deconstructed fast-food meals and their packaging and laid them out flat, to show how wasteful they are.
