‘Branding inspired by the theme of summer’

For my FMP project, I wanted to do a project on an area of graphic design that I was passionate about and that I enjoy. I decided to do a project on branding which was inspired by the theme of summer. I decided to do a project on gin which I then designed labels, accessories and posters for. I did variations of labels with different colours and pattern work on which was inspired by flavours that go into the drink.

‘Indie Park 2021’
The Broxbourne School — GCSE
Indie Park 2021 is a music festival that will take place in the summer of 2021. It will show case 8, small British indie rock bands. The bands includes: The Covasettes, The Sherlocks, Only Sun, Chappaqua Wrestling, Dancing On Tables, Oddity Road, Sports Team, and Jaws, I picked these bands to play at the festival as I think these are the best up and coming indie rock bands in the UK.
I have designed a poster (which I then screen printed on t-shirts and then created mock-up on Photoshop of how they would look like on billboard around town), I’ve also designed the festival tickets and wristbands. Throughout the designs I used the same colour scheme of red, white, and blue because all of the bands are from the UK and these colours are the colours from the Union Jack.

My project was based on opinions and emotions being conveyed and carried through music. I was able to do this by focusing on an influential rapper, Dave. I was able to put his views and his opinions on an album cover through my art, which was my aim for the project. I used a mix of photography and design skills that I had learnt over the past two years to complete my project and my idea.

For this project I wanted to rebrand for Smirnoff. It is a very well-known brand but does not seem to release many new ideas. I wanted to aim its new design towards women as I felt it would be creative to have them create a women’s vodka that would real them in. I done a lot of research into what fruits women think are most popular and I chose Mango. So, I used the colours Orange Red and Yellow for my marbling piece for my final design I kept Smirnoff’s font and its Ribbon Label too.

My poster consists of multiple concepts on female positivity; including a book cover; its glossary definition pages and female empowering images. The book pulls every element together because the definitions link to the mini posters. I wanted my designs to put across my feelings about female positivity and how we should be able to feel comfortable in our own skin and be whoever we want to be.
