‘Storytelling’

Statement

For my final piece, I produced three canvas to convey a series on Netflix that I really enjoy called ‘Fate: The Winx Saga’. This is about three fairies based on wind, mind, water and fire, they go to a boarding school in another world, the fairy eventually transforms into a fire fairy. This relates to me as when I get wound up by people, I lash out on people, so it is me transforming into a fire fairy and lashing out. I tried to put all the ideas from all the scenes into one with my designs and put each one into a canvas and related it to my life.

How I interpreted story telling is by draw a manga style drawing based of a story, I’m writing so what I did was practice of small, so I familiarized myself with the style of drawing in a manga style. Then from there I transferred my skills onto an A1 piece of paper and created a beautiful piece of work of two people. One of which is confessing their love to the other.

‘Beyond Desire’

Statement

My concept explores the minds of 21 century women and their day to day life as a extreme violation of comfortability. I don’t think I have ever met a woman who is 100% comfortable In a workplace. I’ve never met a woman who feels half as respected as the men who work on the desk beside them. I’ve never met a woman who have matching salary’s with their male counterparts. My aim with (Beyond Desire) was to break down a wall of a woman who pretend to be happy while she’s slowly becoming drained. I want to express people pain into paint without giving away real definitions and letting the audiences confuse themselves. But also I want to highlights woman’s pain. I want to show real mourning of a old you. A anxiety’s of being shouted at from down the street, A worry that they may hear no as yes. A headache from waking up at 5 just to make yourself desirable.

‘Storytelling’

Statement

I interpreted the theme Storytelling by creating a painting on a canvas that shows a spiritual journey, a girl surrounded by flowers and nature. This reflects on myself going through a spiritual journey. This is the theme story telling as it’s a girl who grew up in a forest with a peace of mind other than society today.

For my final piece, I wanted to create a window display, so I chose to make a showcase box to convey the story of Alice in Wonderland. I chose this theme as it’s colourful and complements the spring/summer 2022 fashion trends. Within this piece, I used a variety of mediums including clay to create oversized mushroom props and hanging butterflies to create another dimension, set against an optical illusion background. I chose to feature Moschino’s 2022 summer collection as I feel this communicates the theme of Alice in Wonderland and its weirdness.

Statement

I interpreted the theme Storytelling by creating 3 film posters. I chose 3 of my favourite films- all comedies- based on which ones I thought would be most fun to turn into arty posters. I love to incorporate media like film and music into my art, so this project was really fun to do.

JACK TURNER

‘Storytelling’

Statement

For my final major project, I was trying to convey a vague and brief story about a person being visited by otherworldly beings, corrupted and isolated until they see the beings as a positive thing rather than a malice. It was nineteen various sketches of beings performing various acts with hectic varieties and on occasion some implications. The beings in question were a reimagining of ‘Night Gaunts’ (a H.P Lovecraft monster) I had come up with a while prior, which I thought would be fitting as said poem the story follows a man haunted by demonic creatures.

‘Storytelling’

Statement

For my piece my idea was to show that unlikely opposites can become friends, for example, two characters can come from completely different habitats that meet up and find that they have more in common with each other than you may think. The best part of my work was the drawing of the gym leaders as it felt like they had a personality that some people could to. My inspiration came from thinking of an occupation first and then what kind of a person would look good doing that job and then I was able to come up with ideas on the spot whist I was drawing.
